Hazard communication, also known as HazCom, is a set of processes and procedures that employers and importers must implement in the workplace to effectively communicate hazards associated with chemicals during handling, shipping, and any form of exposure.

AET proposes to conduct training covering hazardous materials management as it pertains to the safe handling and proper shipment of hazardous materials.  This is relevant for a wide variety of companies, construction firms, specialty trades, facility managers, manufacturing, industry, and others.

The OSHA Hazcom standard is founded on a three-way partnership between the chemical manufacturers, employers, and employees.  AET will delve into the responsibilities of each of the members of this partnership including:

  • Importance of proper handling and shipment.
  • How to work safety
  • What makes a material hazardous
  • Potential hazards
  • Consequences of careless handling
  • Overexposure
  • Spills
  • Decontaminating
  • Tips for working with chemicals
  • How to read labels
