*NOTE:  USEPA and SAME are pursuing and finalizing a co-sponsorship agreement for this event.  Both parties expect to make a formal announcement within the next few weeks.

As a result of the resounding success of last year’s event, the enthusiastic feedback we received from attendees, SAME Denver Post is holding an expanded version of this event in Fall of 2017 in Denver CO.

Abstract Submission:  Please note that the Abstract Submission Form is attached and may also be accessed on the above-mentioned web page.  Abstracts are due on Friday July 28, 2017.  They should be submitted electronically to DCHWS-West@cdmsmith.com.

Suggested Abstract Topics:  The formal technical program will consist of 6 sessions held over 2 days preceded by an informal evening discussion and welcome reception.  We will entertain all proposed relevant topics, however, we are particularly focused on the following areas:

  • RD/RA Project Management with a focus on lessons learned or new/innovative concepts and techniques
  • Adaptive Site Management for large or complex sites with a focus on the Western United States. Site types may include:
    • Hardrock Mining sites
    • Sediment sites
    • Large watersheds
    • Residential/high access
    • Wood treater sites

Adaptive management strategies may include or consider approaches for characterization, optimization of environmental monitoring over a large area (e.g. watershed), approaches for prioritizing response actions, and exit strategies.

  • Innovative Technologies and Applications
    • Site investigation tools
    • Remedial Technologies
    • Combining technologies
  • Site reuse
